Key updates include a precise definition of “overstay,” which will now be consistent with current visitor policies, clarification that an ETA is directly tied to the passport used in the application, and provisions for the cancellation of an ETA if the validity criteria (outlined in ETA 1.1 and ETA 1.2) are not met at the time of application or after issuance.
