Requirements for Extending a Global Talent Visa
Applicants seeking to extend their Global Talent visa must fulfill the following criteria as outlined in Appendix Global Talent of the UK Immigration Rules:
- Submission of a Valid Application
The application must be submitted following the guidelines for a valid application under Appendix Global Talent. - Endorsement or Prize Validity
The applicant’s endorsement or prestigious award must remain active and must not have been withdrawn or suspended at the time of application. - Points-Based Requirement
To qualify, the applicant must secure 70 points according to the Global Talent points framework. - Age Criteria
The applicant must be 18 years or older on the date of the application. - Immigration Status
Applicants must currently hold valid leave to remain in the UK as either a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent migrant or a Global Talent migrant. - Suitability Requirements
The applicant must meet the suitability criteria and must not be subject to refusal under Part 9 (grounds for refusal) of the Immigration Rules. - Compliance with Immigration Laws

Points for Extension Application on the Global Talent Route
Applicants seeking an extension on the Global Talent route must meet specific eligibility criteria. If you hold or previously held permission under this route, your extension application must satisfy the following conditions:

- You must have earned income in the UK during your last grant of permission in:

- The field in which you were endorsed if your initial application was based on an endorsement.

Permission can be granted for up to 5 years per application, based on the duration requested by the applicant. There is no overall limit on the total length of permission that can be granted under the Global Talent route.

- Employment and Self-Employment Permitted, except for roles as a professional sportsperson or sports coach.
- Study is permitted, subject to the ATAS condition outlined in Appendix ATAS.
